On Friday, the Odisha government announced the cancellation of the Council of Higher Secondary Education's class 12 board examinations (CHSE). The Board of Secondary Education's class 10 board exam has already been cancelled by the state government. The board examinations for class 12 were cancelled by CBSE and CISCE earlier this week.
Patnaik stated the current situation has seriously hampered children's studies, noting that the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic has created an unprecedented situation across the country.
"There is the potential of civilization and civilization progressing if there is life. Nothing can be accomplished if there is no life. According to Patnaik, "However, the safety of students' lives takes precedence over all examinations," he stated. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik made the announcement, saying that student safety is more essential than exams.
"Well-defined objective criteria will be developed to evaluate the level of pupils," Patnaik added, requesting that the criteria be set in a timely way by the authorities.
