In connection with the 2015 Paris attacks, Pakistani citizen Muhammad Ghani Usman is being held in a French prison. India says Usman spoke with David Coleman Headley, the US terrorist of Pakistani ancestry who masterminded the 2008 Mumbai terror attack.
The planning and execution of the Mumbai 2008 assaults were illuminated by a new documentary on the participation of the Paris attack conspirator Muhammad Ghani Usman, a Pakistani native, and Lashkar-e-Taiba militant. In the context of the 2015 attack on the French capital, Usman is in a French prison.
A German broadcaster DW broadcasted the documentary. It attempts to see how terrorist operations in Europe are financed, planned, and carried out. The filmmakers follow the clues showing Pakistani intelligence service ISI's involvement with terrorists.
Sajjan Gohel, a London-based security analyst, said, "This man was a key member of the Lashkar-e-Taiba. It is believed that he was a part of the operations planning for the attacks in Mumbai in 2008. Yet, nothing was done".
The author of the best-selling book 'Indian Mujahideen: the enemy within' and an expert on terrorism Shishir Gupta added, "The documentary shows that Pakistan continues to be the terror factory of the world. This is quite evident when Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan calls the 9/11 Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden a martyr and foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, in an interview to Tolo News, gives it a pass. Pakistani political leadership continues to deny the presence of Taliban leadership, including Taliban leader Hibatullah Akhundzada, and Sirajuddin Haqqani in the country. What makes it worse is that Sajid Mir is still living in Rawalpindi and David Coleman Headley was a relation of former Pakistan prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani. To date, the American intelligence has not shared the financial transactions of Headley with India. With the American forces leaving Afghanistan next month, the terror factory in Pakistan will be running full steam with impact on the entire world".
The National Investigative Agency (NIA) questioned Usman in 2019, which was investigating the Mumbai attack charges. Usman was in communication, according to NIA, with David Coleman Headley, a terrorist from Pakistan who drew up the terrorist operation in Mumbai in 2008.
The film then talks of the main schemes that have been brought about by terrorists brainwashed and shows a mysterious person called Sajid Mir. According to the documentary by a former French investigative judge Jean-Louis Bruguiere, anti-terrorism, "Suspects in the US confirm the existence of Sajid Mir and his role in recruiting and indoctrinating westerners to send them back to Europe or the US to carry out attacks in the name of LeT".
