Reopening of schools
One of the best gifts that nature provides students is holidays. Every one of us has gone through beautiful yet memorable events during our holidays. Holidays are those important days in which children enjoy their time with their parents. These days are considered to be blessings as family reunites, spending amazing time on tours, no worries of exams, etc. Everyone loves these days.
Even now-a-days, grown-ups want to have some free time to enjoy themselves. Schools are often closed due to holidays like Diwali, Pongal, New year, etc. During 2020 there was a situation that arose, where the government decided to close schools to protect children from pandemics. This pandemic of Covid-19 actually gave children a very long summer holiday. Kids think that 2020 was a great blessing.
No schools and no classes made children hate studies more than before. After a span of a few months the government decided to conduct online classes for students which created a lot of issues since, only the least population of people in India are from high society while others are from either middle class or under poverty category. This became a huge topic because not everyone in the world can afford to buy smartphones. Even if they have one, how is it possible for two or more children to attend online classes using the same mobile phones at the same time. This was the biggest reason behind the controversy for online classes.`
The government has created various ways to provide education to students. Now, after a span of one-and-half year of pandemic, the government has decided to reopen the schools for students. Due to this pandemic, students were promoted to next classes despite writing their exams. To enhance the education system, the government has finally arrived in the state of reopening schools. While lots of parents are against this as vaccination is only allowed for the age group 18-above 60. Under 18 age children are not vaccinated and this creates stress to children as well as their parents mentally.
The doctors have discovered that the third wave affects most of the children under 18 years old. Hence, it is a very serious situation right now. The Drug regulator has rejected the application of the Serum Institute of India to conduct trials of Covovax on children under 18 and the company advises to try these vaccines on adults before using them for children. So, it will be better to continue online classes for students. Even CBSE has cancelled examinations considering the health of students.
A report states that only 22 percent of schools have online classes, while others don't. It is a hard task to attend online classes in rural areas where network facilities are poor, due to weather changes like monsoon rainy seasons, which results in poor power supply. So, the education system has to find new ways to continue educating students without any issues either physically or mentally.
