Rajasthan Panchayat Election 2021
According to information available on the State Election Commission's website, the ruling Congress won 670 Panchayat Samiti seats in Rajasthan, while the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 551. The counting of votes for the Panchayat elections, which were held on August 26, August 29, and September 1, took place on Saturday.
The results for 1562 of the 1564 seats for which ballots were cast have been announced. Independent candidates won 290 seats, while the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) respectively won 40 and 11 seats.
Meanwhile, the Congress and the BJP each won 189 seats in the Zila Parishad, with the former taking 99 seats and the latter taking 90. Independent candidates came in second with eight votes, followed by the BSP with three votes.
Ashok Gehlot, the Chief Minister, and Sachin Pilot, his former deputy, both took to Twitter to congratulate the winning candidates and thank the people. “I thank the voters for making the Congress victorious in Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad elections. Many congratulations to all the winning candidates and Congress workers,” Gehlot tweeted in Hindi.
Pilot, on the other hand, posted the following message: “I congratulate all candidates from the Congress who stood victorious in the Panchayat polls, and wish them a bright future. I hope that you will always be ready for public service and development of your area, in line with the policies and the ideology of the Congress.”
