A red alert has been issued for Kerala on Friday and for Karnataka and Tamil Nadu on Saturday. Fishing activities have been aborted off the coast of Kerala after the Indian Meteorological Department warned of the cyclonic storm- Tauktae. The cyclone is likely to hit the coast by May 16.
An orange alert has also been issued in four other districts of Kerala.
The low pressure in the Arabian Sea region might give it a form of a cyclone as predicted by the IMD.
