Indian Air Force Drone
Between 12.30 am and 4.30 am on Tuesday, drones were observed hovering above military sites in Jammu's Ratnuchak, Kaluchak, and Sunjuwan districts, according to a police officer.
Chandan Kohli, a senior police superintendent, said the Army notified them of the drone sightings and that they were looking into it. At Sunjuwan, the Army has a brigade stationed. The Army has yet to make a comment in response to the new drone sighting.
The drones were discovered on Tuesday after soldiers fired at two identical gadgets that were detected hovering above the Ratnuchak, Kaluchak military sector in the region on Monday.
According to experts, a new security danger has developed from over the Pakistani border, with drones being deployed for the first time to target military sites. Drones were utilized for two "low-intensity" explosives at the IAF in Jammu early Sunday.
The blasts wounded two people, prompting various teams to begin investigations. Two drones were observed above the military area on Sunday. The first drone was observed at about 11:45 p.m., while the second was seen at 2.40 a.m.
Security forces began searching and determining whether they were being operated from a car on the next road. To prevent more drone strikes, the IAF has bolstered its air defense at its advanced air bases in the western sector.
While the IAF is now convinced that drones were employed in the Jammu attack, it is still unclear where the drones originated from or which side they flew to after delivering the two IEDs.
Several cases have occurred in which Pakistan-based militants have used drones to drop guns, ammunition, narcotics, and money into Jammu and Kashmir's border areas in order to feed terrorism in the region.
“At least 300 drones have been sighted along the border with Pakistan since the 2019 abrogation of Article 370”, a security official told PTI on Monday. Border security agencies have been testing indigenously built counter-drone technologies in the rough jungle terrains, desert and marshes along the western front but have had limited success”, the official said.
