Return to earth after 160 days; SpaceX astronauts describe "I felt really heavy"
Four astronauts returned on Thursday from the International Space Station after over 160 days. The SpaceX crew dragon capsule was carrying the astronauts back to the earth's surface. It was a nighttime ocean landing.
"There was a point where I was saying to myself, breath. Inhale, because I felt really heavy -- I felt like those cartoons when they experience G, and your face is just sagging down," said American Victor Glover, crew 1.
This mission was the first regular mission that returned from ISS in a spaceship built by billionaire Elon Musk's company.
"I expected it to be so dynamic — and so challenging — that the actual event, I think, was a little less than what I was expecting, and so it was enjoyable all around," Glover said.
While entering the earth's gravity, he said it felt heavy in the chest, making it hard to breathe.
But then, "launch and entry are such unique experiences," he said.
