Schools Remain Shut Down for Haryana, NCR amidst emergency Air pollution levels

The Delhi government announced a school closure for a week, as the air pollution level had plunged to a disastrous extreme.

Haryana Government made an official announcement to keep their schools closed till 17th November, amongst the culminating air pollution levels.

In order to stop the hazardous contamination from reaching the zenith, Haryana also banned all construction activities.

Both government and privately run offices are urged to stop their regular offline activities, and to switch to the digital, work-from-home facilities.

The school closure for Delhi, will start from Monday, counting till seven days. All office work, both government and private firms,  have switched on again to work from home mode, again, after the unlocking from the Covid pandemic.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has banned all construction work from 14th to 17th November. He had also urged that the state government is working on another proposal of lockdown, which they would soon submit to the Supreme Court.

The air quality has degraded to a severe hazardous extremity. People from Delhi and its neighbouring states gasped for fresh air.

The System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), had reported that the air quality index in the city is at 499 on Saturday, accounting for the 'severe category.'

The SC remarked on the situation stating that civilians are wearing masks in their own households.

A bench headed by Chief Justice N V Ramana cited other reasons for air contamination, such as vehicular emissions, firecrackers and dust. Identifying stalk burning, will delay the recovery as other sources would continue polluting the environment.
