Tokyo Paralympics 2021
Following a poor eighth day at the Games, India will try to rebound and secure as many spots in the finals as possible in their various events. Suyash Jadhav, an Indian para swimmer, had a dismal performance in the men's 100m breaststroke SB7 final on Wednesday, when he was disqualified for a rule infringement.
Pramod Bhagat and Palak Kohli, a mixed team, were defeated by second seeds Lucas Mazur and Faustine Noel in the badminton event's group B opener. The Indian combination of Amit Kumar and Dharambir finished fifth and eighth in the F51 men's club throw competition of the Paralympics, respectively, leaving the Indian contingent without a medal. In the men's singles competition, world number one shuttler Pramod Bhagat made a strong start, while youthful Palak Kohli had a difficult day after being outplayed by her Japanese counterpart.
Today, Arvind Malik gets things started with a 10.52m toss. This is the first time he's tried something like this. In his subsequent tosses, he'd like to improve on that. His second throw was 12.41 metres. He's getting better, but he's still in eighth place right now. With the third throw, he needs to step up his game. And it's heartbreaking. Arvind's third effort results in a foul. He'll try to claw his way back into contention, but it'll be a tall order for the Indian.
