Former Indian Cricketer Suresh Raina
Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina made a name for himself on social media following one of him remarks regarding the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League. Raina, a member of the Chennai Super Kings franchise in the Indian Premier League, asked the commentator how he feels about Chennai culture when he wears "something" and dances and plays. CSK's left-handed pitcher replied, “I think I'm a Brahmin too. I have been playing for Chennai since 2004. I love culture and love my teammates.
In response to Raina's comment, one Twitter user said that while he played Chennai for many years, it looks like he hasn't experienced the actual culture of Chennai.
"@ImRaina you should be ashamed of yourself. It seems that you have never experienced real Chennai culture though you have been playing for many years for the Chennai team," the tweet read.
"So I watched the video, I once liked Raina very much and now I'm sad how ignorant he has been hiding all these days. Lost it! No more respect," another one added.
Raina announced his retirement from international cricket on 15 August. Left-handed bats have been a staple of the Chennai-based IPL franchise for many years.
