T20 World Cup 2021: New Zealand Outclass & defeat India by 8 Wickets

New Zealand Outclass & defeat India by 8 Wickets.

T20 World Cup: India suffered the loss for the second time, as they were outclassed by New Zealand by 8 wickets. India lost the opening match against Pakistan by 8 wickets, on the 24th of October. India has not beaten New Zealand since 2003 in an ICC tournament. This is the first time in 22 years that India has lost two consecutive matches, the last was in 1999. Now it seems that India needs to wait a little longer to taste the success at the international Council Events. As India lost the first match against Pakistan, the former champions were expected to knock back this time. But unfortunately, they came with another listless display of cricket. India last won the match against New Zealand, in 2003.

The straight second defeat:
The chances of India to place themselves in the final four of the T20 World Cup, seems a little less, as it faces a huge blow after two back-to-back defeats. Jasprit Bumrah was the only Indian bowler to take a wicket for India in this edition of the T20 world cup. Bumrah removed Martin Guptill during the power play. The Indian bowlers were taken on to cleaners by Daryl Mitchell and this led to a very disappointing situation for India, as he hit the boundaries at will. India rose up with a clueless display of batting. As Ishan Kishan went on to replace injured Suryakumar Yadav, in the playing XI. Henceforth India took up their decision to drop senior batsman Rohit Sharma to NO.3. Inshan was dismissed for 4. At the end of the power play India reached 36 runs as they lost KL. Rahul also. Kohli struggled to get through but was eventually dismissed for 9 off 17 balls, Rohit Sharma fell for a run-a-ball 14 and Ish Sodhi went on to pick up two wickets.
The batting scorecard of India, was a sorry figure as their big guns failed. India did not score a single boundary for more than 70 balls and they went without any momentum between overs 7 and 15.
