Taiwan has closed all its borders from the beginning of the pandemic and has a good quarantine system, minimum case numbers around 1210 affected which includes around 12 deaths. Taiwan’s government has imposed strict rules on public gatherings when 6 new COVID-19 cases are reported with no clear source of infection but apart from this Taiwan has kept the pandemic well under control.
“We hope that this does not spread” Health Minister Chen Shih-chung said, and calling on people to use sanitizers, wear mask in public places, constantly wash their hands and most importantly ensure social distancing and the government is trying to track down those who were in contact with the affected one’s.
The government imposed restrictions on outdoor activities of more than 500 people and indoor activities of 100 until June 8. Food and drink should also be banned in trains ,Chen said. Though Taiwan has never faced a complete lockdown they are trying to control the situation in every possible way as more than 90% cases of COVID-19 have been imported from abroad.
