On 28th May, after seven months GST Council better known as Goods and Services Tax Council will meet for the discussion on major issues such as tax waivers on various medical devices, medicines, health services and compensation to states among the Covid-19 second wave.
After several states like, West Bengal and Punjab raised the problem of unreasonable delay in assembling its meeting, date and timing of the meeting has been tweeted by Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman.
A tweet from the FM's office said that "MOS Shri @ianuragthakur will be attending the meeting apart from Finance Ministers of States and senior officers from Union Government and States and UTs and the 43rd GST Council meeting will be going via video conferencing at 11 am in New Delhi on 28th May 2021 and smt @nsitharaman will be the Chairperson of the meeting.
