due date of filing the income tax returns for the financial year 2021 to 2022 has been
extended to 230 September 2021 from the earlier given date of 31st July 2021. A month
long extension from 15 June to 15 July Has been granted to the employers to furnish
form 16 which shows text directions at source from the employees salary.“The Central
Government, in continuation of its commitment to address the hardship being faced by
various stakeholders on account of the severe COVID-19 pandemic, has, on
consideration of representations received from various stakeholders, decided to extend
timelines for compliances under the Income-tax Act, 1961,” the finance ministry issued a
statement. The circular also inform the texspares about the the unavailability of of
feeling services in the portal between 1st to 6th June due to to upgradation of of the
portal.“Taxpayers are encouraged to complete all their urgent tasks involving any
submission, upload or downloads before 1stJune, 2021, to avoid any difficulty during
the blackout period,” the IT department said. They added that a new portal after update
will come which will make the online tax paying procedure to be simpler and quicker.
