The key man behind Tejas, Scientist Manas Bihari Vermed, passed away
On Monday Night, Aeronautical scientist Manas Bihari Verma passed away at the age of 78 at Darbhanga in Bihar. He played a vital role in India’s first light combat fighter(LCA) ‘Tejas.’
On the demise of Manas Bihari Verma, the chief minister of Bihar expressed his grief and said that his role in Aeronautical engineering will always be remembered.
The CM tweeted, “The demise of the famous scientist Padma Shri Manas Bihari Verma ji is very sad. His death has caused irreparable damage to the science world. The nation will always remember his contribution. May God grant peace to the departed soul”.
Manas Bihari Verma passed away due to a massive heart attack at 11:45 pm at his home at KM Tank locality of Laheriasarai in Bihar’s Darbhanga town.
Narayan Choudhary, a close associate of Verma, said, “Verma was deeply involved in LCA project definition and under his guidance the requirements of full-scale engineering development (FSED), phase-I activities, were achieved.”
