Union Minister of Railways and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw
Last Monday, the Union Minister of Railways and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, was given a 12, Janpath mansion in Lutyens Delhi by the Central Government.
The villa had previously been assigned to former Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan. According to sources, IT and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw's new location will be the bungalow at 12, Janpath, which was allotted last week.
"In the second week of July, the Directorate of Estate, under the Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry, issued an eviction order for 12, Janpath," sources told .
"Last month, the Ministry directed Chirag Paswan, a Lok Sabha MP from Jamui, Bihar, to vacate the 12 Janpath Bungalow," they stated.
Several attempts were made to reach Chirag Paswan, the Lok Janshakti Party's (LJP) Lok Sabha MP from Bihar, but he was unavailable for comment.
The bungalow is currently occupied by Ram Vilas Paswan's wife Reena Paswan, son Chirag Paswan, and other family members.
On October 8, 2020, former Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan died in a private Delhi hospital owing to sickness.
From 1989 till his death in October 2020, the late Union Minister's residence in the National Capital was the bungalow.
