Vasisth, who was released on bond after serving five months in prison, claimed she was falsely accused in the case
A model and actress Vandana Ravindra Tiwari alias Gehana Vasisth who was arrested by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch in February this year for her role in a pornographic movie racket, has denied the allegations placed against her.
Vasisth, who was released on bond after serving five months in prison, claimed she was falsely accused in the case. “There was no pornography in those videos. I have worked with Umesh Kamat and Raj Kundra, but we don’t make obscene videos. Our videos don’t cross the limit.” Gehana Vasisth told to India Today TV.
“I don’t know why I was booked in this case. I know (Raj) Kundra and his colleagues but don’t know (other) accused who were arrested from the bungalow,” she added,
Yasmeen Khan alias Rowa (42) was the producer-director, and police arrested five of her aides. Following the raid, actors Mohammed Ateef Saifi and Bhanu Thakur, as well as photographer Monu Joshi and creative director Pratibha Nalawade, were arrested.
“Also, there is a case of gangrape against me in Malwani police station which is baseless. If women are being forced into some acts why would they continue to come on the sets and later promote these videos? I don’t think any woman was forced to these videos. I am myself in this industry for 11 years. Nothing like this has happened to me. I don’t know why I am being targeted,” Vasisth said.
Vasisth added that if she had known she would have asked for anticipatory bail on the day she was arrested.
“On February 4, I was leaving for launch of a movie when police officials came to my residence. I gave them my mobile phones and laptop when they asked for them. Two women and one male policeman slept at my house. On February 6, I was called for questioning and later placed under arrest,” she said.
“There must be some people who shoot obscene movies and they should be stopped by police. Our work is not obscene in nature. There should be a censor on digital platforms like it is there for theatres if they don’t want us to work. Till then, we will continue to work,” she added.
Vasisth revealed she had major health problems during her time in prison when asked about it.
“Sometimes my sugar level used to go up to 270. I also suffered a heart attack while in jail. People used to pray in jail and I used to ask myself why I should ask for forgiveness because I have done no wrong. What happened to me should not happen to anyone else,” she said
