Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh police made an announcement on Monday and went on to strictly warn, and will take up strict actions furthermore against those who will be seen participating in the ‘Rail Roko’ stir, which is called out by the SKM (Samyukta Kishan Morcha) which is a union body of farmers.
The protest was called out by the farmers because of the violence that took place during Lakhimpur. The rule went on to say that Section 144 has been further imposed in Lucknow, which prohibits the gathering and the assembly of four or more people at one place. And those who are found violating or disrupting the rules or even if they try to do so then, they will be further imposed by strict actions.
The farmers in Lucknow, have called for the Rail Roko stir agitation on Monday, as they demand the removal of Ajay Mishra who serves himself as the Minister of State for the Home affairs at the Central government. The farmers are demanding his removal because his son Ashish Mishra was found as the main accused who was involved in the killing of 8 farmers during the Lakhimpur violence on the 3rd of October. The black SUV’s viral video clearly shows that there has been violence that is taking place against the farmers during the protest.
The farmers and the other members of SKM allege that Ashish Mishra was sitting in the vehicle which was moved down by the farmers. However, during the questioning, both Ajay Mishra and Ashish Mishra went to disagree upon the information that Ashish was present inside the vehicle. On the other side, the ‘Rail Roko’ stir will be going on for six hours which began at 10 am and is scheduled to continue till 4 in the evening. Moreover, due to this stir, the railway operators are likely to be impacted during this particular period.
The SKM went on to say in a statement that, “To press for its demand for Ajay Mishra's dismissal and arrest, so that justice can be secured in Lakhimpur Kheri violence, SKM has announced a nation-wide rail roko program on October 18," the farmers' body said in a statement on Sunday.The action will be taken up "peacefully, without any destruction and damage of any kind to any railway property," the statement said further.
