UP announces extension of lockdown by a week, amid COVID surge
The Uttar Pradesh government announced on Sunday that an extension of lockdown in the state is imposed till May 17th to break the chain of transmission of the deadly virus. The previous lockdown was to end on Monday morning.
The UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said that coronavirus vaccination on a massive scale would be initiated from May 10th for the age group of 18-44 years.
He said 45 lakh vaccines have already been administered to people above 45 years of age.
