The Uttar Pradesh government decided to fight against the rising crisis of Oxygen supply. They decided to set up more oxygen plants. As a result, Uttar Pradesh achieved its goals of creating Oxygen plants by setting up 133 oxygen plants across the state while working on the manufacturing of more oxygen plants.
On Saturday, at a conference with Team-9 officials, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “Nine more oxygen plants have become functional in the last two days. The process of establishing the remaining under-construction plants should be completed expeditiously. Setting up oxygen plants is to be mandatory in hospitals with a capacity of 50 or more beds. Review the situation and take necessary action in this regard.”
While 23 oxygen plants are already available, the state has decided to set up more to meet the needs of oxygen. 71 more oxygen plants were approved by the government, out of which 22 became functional and 49 are in the process of functioning. The government stated that setting up of 8 PSA has been approved with funding of PM cares in which 129 new oxygen plants were proposed to be manufactured using funds from PM, while only 17 have been processed; others are still under process.
The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) proposed to set up 135 oxygen plants among which 47 have already been installed while the remaining is under process. This process of setting up of oxygen plants was proposed after lots of deaths were monitored due to insufficiency of oxygen for covid patients.
