The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT) majority government in Tripura is preparing to appoint fresh people into the state cabinet within a week of three years in charge after conquering the two-decade-old Marxist government, an official in the (CMO) said on speaking anonymously.
“There’s a possibility of a state cabinet reshuffle. It may happen in a day or may take even ten days,” the official said.
If a reshuffle occurs, it will focus on the coalition's goals for the 2023 legislative elections. In 2018, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb appointed eight ministers while maintaining the ministries of home, general administration, public works, labor, information, and cultural affairs, industry, and commerce.
Later, in 2019, the health minister, Sudip Roy Barman, was removed out from the cabinet due to suspected anti-party actions, and Deb assumed on as the new health minister. Four cabinet posts remain unfilled.
With less than three years until the next Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gradually revamped his administration.
Biplab Kumar Deb toured New Delhi and met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote his govt's goal for economic activity with agar farming, as well as to urge an improving economic allocation.
