Women in Manipur were fined for travelling with a fake Covid-19 report.
A 21-year old woman named Rabina Devi was found guilty after she was found carrying a fake Covid-19 report during her travel.
The order released by Thoubal district magistrate N Bandana Dev told that Rabina Devi traveled from Hyderabad to Imphal via Kolkata, and she was carrying a fake negative report with herself.
The investigation was done at Imphalairport, and it was found that she was Covid-19 positive since April 21. Such irresponsible behavior will affect the other co-passenger traveling with her and others who might contact her.
She was fined Rs 2000 by the Imphal government and has signed a bond of sureties of good behavior six months. And needs to present herself in court after she is medically fit.
After the surge in cases in the state, the government has made it mandatory for all traveling by air and land to show the negative Covid-19 report as a precaution.
