INR ₹9, 371 crores worth of assets transferred to the public sector banks by the enforcement directorate that will help banks to recover losses on account of fraud.
Three people cheated the public sector banks nearly worth ₹22, 586 crores out of 80.45% assets are attached/ seized by the enforcement directorate, the agency said.
The agency said that nearly 40% of the amount which they lost was due to fraud by three people. The agency has seized assets worth ₹18, 170.22 crores, which includes assets worth ₹969 crores located in other foreign countries. The value of those assets represents 80.45% of the total bank's loss.
Vijay mallya, nirav modi, Mehul choksi resulted in loss to the banks nearly worth ₹22, 585.83 crores by their respective companies. Mallya is accused of fraud nearly ₹9000 crores, choksi and modi want in India for fraud ₹13500 crores from Punjab National Bank.
