YouTube music now available on Samsung’s WearOS platform
Washington [USA], August 26 (ANI): US tech giant Google recently launched the music streaming service YouTube on its wearOS platform.
According to verge, the Google Wear OS app for YouTube music may sound like good news for people who have been waiting for a way to play music from Google's streaming service after the company launched Google Play Music on Wear OS in 2020.
The new application comes with a few caveats, however. The biggest problem is that, according to Google, the new app only works on one of Samsung's two new ones powered by Wear OS. These watches won't be available until August 27, so even if you want to try out the new app now, you can only do so if you have a Galaxy Watch Four or a Galaxy Watch for Classic. If you are lucky enough to own one of the new watches, YouTube Music Wear OS Premium allows YouTube subscribers to download music directly to their watch without an internet connection.
However, based on 9to5Google's hands-on experience with the app, there seem to be a few frustrating caveats to consider when using the Wear OS YouTube Music app. 9to5google says there doesn't seem to be a way to view music from the app, it seems all you can do now is download music.
And annoyingly, you can only download songs when they are loaded. Still, it's good that there is a YouTube Music Wear OS app, even in the currently restricted form. Google has not disclosed any details on when the app might be available on other Wear OS devices.
